Unbelievably, Caroline is now 3 months old! She has grown and developed so much in the last 12 weeks that she almost seems like a different baby. Caroline loves to smile and is learning to laugh. Ryan was holding her a few weeks ago and accidentally dropped her hairbrush on the floor. In his frustration, he said a bad word, and Caroline burst into a giggle. For those of you who have been on the receiving end of Ryan's sarcastic "you dropped that" quips, it was sweet justice to have his daughter give him a hard time!
Knock on wood that I am not jinxing anything, but one of the other great improvements in the last 12 weeks is Caroline's sleep habits. We have been working really hard on her daytime napping and nighttime routine, and we have settled into a pattern that is great for me! She takes a short 45 minute nap in the morning, a longer 2-3 hour nap in the early afternoon, and two more 45 minute naps in the late afternoon and evening. The best part... Caroline has gone between 8-10 hours each night after her last feeding for the past two weeks! It's been sheer heaven! We hope that it lasts...
Here's an update on Miss Mudry:
weight: 13 pounds
eye color: still blue like Mommy's
hair color: mostly brown, but getting redder every day (thanks to Daddy!)
likes: "kicking" the ball to Mara (her Nanie and Grandad's German Shepherd), playing on her gym mat (thanks Westmont's special ed team!), reading with Mommy, giving sloppy "kisses" on Mommy and Daddy's cheeks, taking baths, practicing standing
dislikes: wearing hats (still), being swaddled at night (but it doesn't stop us!), being strapped into her car seat (does this one ever goes away?)
For our East Coast relatives that haven't yet seen Caroline in action, enjoy the following video!
